Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 3 seed, reached the last eight of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch Open by winning against Greek Maria Sakkari 6-3, 6-0 at Autotron Rosmalen on Thursday.
Mertens, ranked No 25, will play the winner of the match between Australian Kimberly Birrell and Chinese lucky loser Yue Yuan next.
The Belgian beat Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-4, 6-0) in the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament.
In the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament, Sakkari, ranked No 85, defeated Dutch wildcard Anouk Koevermans (6-3, 6-4).
