Kazakh Alexander Bublik reached the final of the Halle Open by edging out Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 8 seed, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Saturday evening.
Bublik, ranked No 45, will face Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Kazakh won against Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-4, 6-4), Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and No 7 seed Tomas Machac (7-6 (2), 6-3).
Khachanov, ranked No 22, defeated Belgian Zizou Bergs (7-5, 6-3), Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (6-3, 1-6, 6-3) and Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
