Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 4 seed, won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday.
Humbert, ranked No 20, will play the winner of the match between lucky loser Billy Harris and Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci next.
In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, Sonego, ranked No 48, defeated Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-2, 6-4).
