Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 6 seed, moved into the last 8 of the Eastbourne Open by edging out Australian qualifier James Duckworth 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4 at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday.
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 28, will play No 3 seed Jakub Mensik next.
The Spaniard won against lucky loser Chun-Hsin Tseng (7-6 (6), 6-2) in the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament.
In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, Duckworth, ranked No 106, beat qualifier Aleksandar Vukic (6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1).
