Wimbledon: World No 461 Fery stuns Popyrin to makes second round
Arthur Fery edged out Alexei Popyrin 6-4, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 on Monday. He’ll face either Luciano Darderi or Russian Roman Safiullin in the next round

Wildcard Arthur Fery edged out Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 20 seed, 6-4, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to advance to the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Fery, offered a wildcard by the AELTC as a home-grown player, made the very best of his opportunity at SW19 on his debut Grand Slam performance, putting in a hugely impressive performance to upend the 20th seed.
Fery, ranked No 461, will play the winner of the match between Italian Luciano Darderi and Russian Roman Safiullin next.
