American Ann Li, the No 9 seed, advanced to the second round of the Prague Open by beating Australian qualifier Astra Sharma 7-6 (1), 6-3 at the Sparta Prague Tennis Club on Monday.
Li, ranked No 67, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
