Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, advanced to the last four of the Cincinnati Masters by dismantling Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 23 seed, 6-0, 6-2 on Thursday evening.
Sinner, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between French qualifier Terence Atmane and Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed, next.
The Italian still hasn’t lost a set in this Masters 1000 and showed up much more powerful than the day before against French qualifier Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 7-6 (4)). He has also defeated Canadian Gabriel Diallo, the No 30 seed (6-2, 7-6 (6)) and Colombian qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan (6-1, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Cincinnati tournament, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 28, won against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi (6-4, 6-3), Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (7-6 (4), 4-2 ret.) and Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6-2, 7-6 (3)).
