Cincinnati Open: Veronika Kudermetova moves into quarter-finals
Veronika Kudermetova beat Magda Linette 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday and will face French qualifier Varvara Gracheva next

Russian Veronika Kudermetova won against Pole Magda Linette, the No 31 seed, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Thursday.
Kudermetova and Linette battled for an hour, 37 minutes, with the former securing four breaks to cross the finish line.
Kudermetova, ranked No 42, will play French qualifier Varvara Gracheva next.
The Russian defeated Dane Clara Tauson, the No 16 seed (3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4), Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 17 seed (6-4, 7-6) and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens (6-1, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Linette, ranked No 34, beat American Jessica Pegula, the No 4 seed (7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3) and Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (7-6 (4), 6-0).
