Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 4 seed, reached the final of the Osaka Open by edging out Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 at the Utsubo Tennis Center on Saturday.
Fernandez, ranked No 27, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Jaqueline Cristian and Czech qualifier Tereza Valentova next.
The Canadian won against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (7-6 (2), 6-3), Hungarian qualifier Dalma Galfi (6-1, 6-4) and American Hailey Baptiste (6-2, 7-5) ahead of her victory.
