German Yannick Hanfmann edged out American qualifier Zachary Svajda 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3) to move into the round of 64 of the Australian Open on Sunday night.
Hanfmann, ranked No 101, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, and Australian Adam Walton next.
