The Internazionali BNL d’Italia lost a player on Saturday morning. Tomas Machac, the Czech world No. 53, withdrew from the singles draw with illness, the ATP confirmed. As a result, Daniil Medvedev advances to the next round on walkover, without striking a ball.

Medvedev will meet the winner of the match Moutet – Llamas Ruiz next.

The withdrawal triggered a reshuffle of the day’s schedule. Andrey Rublev’s match against Miomir Kecmanovic has been moved up to Centre Court, and Corentin Moutet’s clash with Pablo Llamas Ruiz now takes place on Supertennis Arena.

Court 1 has been pushed forward, with a new start time of midday, and the Christian Garin vs. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina match has been given a “not before 2:00 pm” tag to manage the knock-on effects.
