Eighth seed Kaitlin Quevedo of Spain moved into the last 16 of the Nordea Open, the WTA 125 event on the outdoor clay of Båstad, Sweden, with a 6-2, 6-3 win over home hope Tiana Tian Deng on Monday evening.
The world No 107 will next face the winner of Hungary’s Dalma Galfi and Sweden’s Kajsa Rinaldo Persson.
At 20, Quevedo is one of the youngest players left in the draw and arrives on a sharp upward curve: a former junior world No 5, she climbed from No 317 to No 144 across the 2025 season, a year that brought her first WTA 125 main draws and a semifinal run at Caldas da Rainha.
