De Minaur de retour au troisième tour de Wimbledon pour la première fois depuis 2017

L’Australien Alex De Minaur, tête de série n°19, s’est hissé au troisième tour de Wimbledon, en s’imposant trois manches à une (5-7, 7-6, 6-2, 6-3) face à Jack Draper au All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club de Londres, jeudi en fin d’après-midi.

C’est la deuxième fois de sa carrière que le joueur australien atteint ce stade de la compétition à Londres. Il avait chuté au troisième tour en 2017 face à Rafael Nadal.

De Minaur, 27e joueur mondial à l’ATP, se mesurera à la wild card Liam Broady lors du troisième tour du Grand Chelem britannique.

Avant ce match de jeudi contre Draper, 94e mondial à l’ATP, le joueur australien avait gagné contre Hugo Dellien (6-1, 6-3, 7-5).

De son côté, Jack Draper avait éliminé la wild card belge Zizou Bergs (6-4, 6-4, 7-6 [4]).
