Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili, the No 5 seed, advanced to the second round of the Stuttgart Open with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti at Tennis Club Weissenhof on Wednesday.
Basilashvili, ranked No 26, will play Australian Nick Kyrgios next. The Australian won his first round match on Tuesday, beating Jiri Lehecka in straight sets.
