Poland Open: Pigossi moves into last 8
Laura Pigossi edged out Nadia Podoroska 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 on Wednesday and will play Romanian Ana Bogdan in the next round
Brazilian lucky loser Laura Pigossi moved into the quarter-finals of the Poland Open by edging out Argentinian Nadia Podoroska 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at Legia Tenis & Golf in Warsaw on Wednesday afternoon.
Pigossi, ranked No 113, will play Romanian Ana Bogdan next.
In the previous round, the Brazilian defeated Russian Varvara Gracheva (6-2, 6-4).
Podoroska, ranked No 211, won against Romanian qualifier Alexandra Ignatik (6-1, 6-1) in the previous round.
