Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 5 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Poland Open by winning against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-3, 7-5 at Legia Tenis & Golf in Warsaw on Thursday.
Garcia, ranked No 45, will face the winner of the match between Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, and Romanian lucky loser Gabriela Lee next.
The Frenchwoman beat Japanese Misaki Doi (7-5, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Cocciaretto, ranked No 105, won against Pole wildcard Martyna Kubka (6-2, 6-3).
