Lasi Open: Chwalinska moves into quarter-finals

Pole Maja Chwalinska moved into the quarter-finals of the Lasi Open by beating Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 4 seed, 7-6 (4), 6-4 at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Wednesday.

Chwalinska, ranked No 160, will play Spaniard Rebeka Masarova next.

In the previous round, the 20-year-old Pole won against Bosnian Dea Herdzelas (6-2, 6-1).

Danilovic, ranked No 115, had defeated Spaniard Andrea Lazaro Garcia (7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-3) in the first round.
