Kanepi moves into Citi Open quarter-finals
Kaia Kanepi edged out Lin Zhu 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday. She’ll play Russian Anna Kalinskaya in the next round
Estonian Kaia Kanepi, the No 6 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Citi Open by edging out Chinese Lin Zhu 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Kanepi, ranked No 37, will face Russian Anna Kalinskaya next.
The 37-year-old Estonian beat Belgian Greet Minnen (6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Zhu, ranked No 97, won against Harriet Dart (6-4, 6-3).
