US Open: Pegula books spot in second round

American Jessica Pegula, the No 8 seed, reached the second round of the US Open by defeating Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic 6-2, 6-2 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Tuesday.
Pegula, ranked No 8, will play the winner of the match between Italian qualifier Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich next.
