Fritz edges Medvedev to claim Diriyah Cup exhibition title
The American took home the $1 million first prize

American Taylor Fritz won two tiebreaks as he clinched the Diriyah Cup title with a 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) victory over defending champion Daniil Medvedev on Saturday.
The American, who broke into the world’s top 10 for the first time this year, held firm under pressure from the former world No 1 to take home the $1 million first prize at the exhibition event.
Medvedev will rue not being able to successfully defend his title but Fritz extended his tiebreak record in 2022 to 25-19 as he picked up the first prize.
