Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner had the tennis fans in a tizzy after their quarter-final match at the US Open – including their colleagues on the circuit.
“We saw Alcaraz, but also Sinner at the US Open, these guys are changing the game in their own way, in terms of speed and aggression,” commented Dominic Thiem, during an interview with Remi Bourrières for Eurosport in late September.
“Throughout the match, no matter what the score is and even on very important points, they’re committing themselves, they’re taking huge risks and I think we’ve never seen that too much in the past. Even Roger, Rafa and Novak play a little bit safer.”
And when it comes to commitment, Thiem knows a thing or two about it.
