Czech Barbora Krejcikova defeated Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu 6-4, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Championships at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Sunday.
Krejcikova, ranked No 29, will play No 7 seed Daria Kasatkina next.
