Dubai Open: Coric holds off Kokkinakis to reach quarter-finals
Borna Coric edged out Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday and will face the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, and Kazakh Alexander Bublik in the next round

Croat Borna Coric, the No 8 seed, edged out Australian wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the last eight of the Dubai Open at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Coric, ranked No 20, will play the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, and Kazakh Alexander Bublik next.
Ahead of his victory, the Croat benefited from the abandonment of Daniel Evans (2-2).
Kokkinakis, ranked No 101, defeated French lucky loser Quentin Halys (6-4, 7-6 (9)) in the previous round of the Dubai tournament.
