Brazilian Thiago Monteiro won against Australian Jason Kubler 6-4, 7-6 (6) to move into the second round of the Miami Masters at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night.
Monteiro, ranked No 81, will play No 5 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime next.
