Brazilian qualifier Carolina M. Alves reached the second round of the Bogota Open by beating Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 at the Country Club Bogota on Tuesday.
Alves, ranked No 239, will play German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, next.
