Charleston Open: Pera reaches last 16

American Bernarda Pera defeated Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
Pera, ranked No 38, will face Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the American won against Claire Liu (6-4, 6-7 (1), 6-3).
Bucsa, ranked No 81, won against Czech Marie Bouzkova, the No 16 seed (7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-1) in the previous round of the Charleston tournament.
