Second seed Dan Evans won against Italian qualifier Andrea Vavassori 6-3, 7-5 to move into the semi-finals of the Marrakech Open at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Friday.
Evans, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 4 seed, next.
Daniel Evans defeated Australian Alexei Popyrin (6-1, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Vavassori, ranked No 201, won against Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 8 seed (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) and edged out Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-7 (4), 7-6 (6), 6-4).
