Croat Donna Vekic advanced to the last 16 of the Porsche Grand Prix by beating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on Monday evening.
Vekic, ranked No 23, will play the winner of the match between Czech Karolina Pliskova and Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 8 seed, next.
