Bosnian wildcard Damir Dzumhur edged out Frenchman Richard Gasquet, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (3) to advance to the last eight of the Banja Luka Open at the Tennis Klub Mladost on Thursday afternoon.
Dzumhur, ranked No 202, will face the winner of the match between Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas and Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Banja Luka tournament, the Bosnian defeated lucky loser Liam Broady (6-3, 6-0).
Gasquet, ranked No 42, won against Croat qualifier Dino Prizmic (6-3, 6-1) in the first round of the Banja Luka tournament.
