Potapova continues giant-killing run in Stuttgart with win over fourth seed Garcia

Russian Anastasia Potapova defeated Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 4 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the last four of the Porsche Grand Prix at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on Friday afternoon.
Potapova, ranked No 24, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Russian edged out Croat qualifier Petra Martic (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4)) and won against American Coco Gauff, the No 5 seed (6-2, 6-3).
Garcia, ranked No 5, beat German wildcard Tatjana Maria (7-6 (5), 6-4) in the previous round of the Stuttgart Open.
