Chinese Zhizhen Zhang edged out No 11 seed Cameron Norrie 2-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2) to advance to the last 16 of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Magica on Monday evening.
Zhang, ranked No 99, made history on the Spanish clay, being the first Chinese in the Round of 16 of a Masters 1000!
will face American Taylor Fritz, the No 8 seed, next.
