Headed to Paris: Emma Navarro and Patrick Kypson win USTA’s Roland-Garros Wild Card Challenge
Both players will be making their debut at the French Open

Americans Emma Navarro and Patrick Kypson have secured wild card berths for Roland-Garros later this month after winning the USTA’s Roland-Garros Wild Card Challenge.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the French Tennis Federation (FFT) have a reciprocal wild card arrangement which gives one male and one female player a wild card into the Grand Slam main draw of the other country. The USTA has been holding a wild card challenge, based on the performance of American players during a window of clay court pro events, to determine who gets the wild card.
Navarro, a 21-year-old former NCAA singles champion, went 14-3 during the five-week Challenge period, winning titles in Charleston and Charlottesville. She is currently ranked a career-high No 83 in the world and will be making her debut at the French Open.
Kypson, aged 23, finished on top of the men’s standings to earn his spot in the Paris main draw. He is currently ranked a career-high No 326 in the world and will also be making his Roland-Garros debut.
