Italian Open: Ostapenko downs Cirstea to reach third round

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 20 seed, moved into the third round of the Italian Open by winning against Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at the Foro Italico in Rome on Friday.
Ostapenko, ranked No 20, will face Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 10 seed, next.
Cirstea, ranked No 34, edged out American Katie Volynets (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
