Roland-Garros: Fognini’s run continues, into third round

Italian Fabio Fognini won against Australian Jason Kubler 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-2 to move into the third round of Roland-Garros at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday.
Fognini, ranked No 130, will play the winner of the match between Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner and American Sebastian Korda, the No 24 seed, next.
The 36-year-old Italian beat Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 10 seed (6-4, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Kubler, ranked No 69, won against Argentinian lucky loser Facundo Diaz Acosta (1-6, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1).
