Dutch Open: Hijikata books spot in semi-finals

Australian lucky loser Rinky Hijikata moved into the semi-finals of the Dutch Open by winning against American Mackenzie McDonald 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 at the Autotron Rosmalen in s-Hertogenbosch on Friday.
Hijikata, ranked No 133, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Australian Jordan Thompson next.
Ahead of his victory, the 22-year-old Australian beat Dutch wildcard Gijs Brouwer (6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2) and Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (2-6, 7-5, 6-3).
McDonald, ranked No 68, defeated Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (6-4, 6-3) and Croat Borna Coric, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Rosmalen.
