Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 4 seed, won against Austrian Sinja Kraus 6-3, 7-6 (2) to move into the quarter-finals of the Veneto Open at the Tennis Club Gaiba on Wednesday afternoon.
Danilovic, ranked No 101, will face Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Serb defeated Italian wildcard Alessandra Teodosescu (6-2, 7-5).
Kraus, ranked No 171, won against Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Gaiba tournament.
