Wimbledon: Safiullin knocks out Pella, reaches last 16 for first time at a Grand Slam
The Russian will play Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 26 seed, in the next round

Russian Roman Safiullin won against Argentinian Guido Pella 7-6 (1), 6-4, 6-0 to move into the last 16 of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.
Safiullin, ranked No 92, will face Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 26 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian defeated Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 20 seed (2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-5) and Frenchman Corentin Moutet (7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
Pella, ranked No 308, beat Croat Borna Coric, the No 13 seed (6-3, 7-5, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1) and edged out French qualifier Harold Mayot (2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3), 7-5) in the previous rounds of The Championships.
