Wimbledon: Rublev books spot in last 16, Bublik next

Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 7 seed, beat Belgian wildcard David Goffin 6-3, 6-7 (6), 7-6 (5), 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday evening.

Rublev, ranked No 7, will play Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 23 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Russian won against Australian Max Purcell (6-3, 7-5, 6-4) and edged out Aslan Karatsev (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4, 7-5).

Goffin, ranked No 123, won against Hungarian lucky loser Fabian Marozsan (6-2, 5-7, 6-2, 6-0) and Chilean qualifier Tomas Barrios Vera (7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-2, 6-0) in the previous rounds of The Championships.
