Carlos Alcaraz races past Rune to set Wimbledon semi-final with Medvedev

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, defeated Dane Holger Rune, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last 4 of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday evening.
Alcaraz, ranked No 1, will face Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 20-year-old Spaniard won against Frenchman Jeremy Chardy (6-0, 6-2, 7-5), Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-4, 7-6 (2), 6-3), Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 25 seed (6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3, 7-5) and Italian Matteo Berrettini (3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3).
Rune, ranked No 6, won against wildcard George Loffhagen (7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-2), Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-3, 7-6 (3), 6-4), Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 31 seed (6-3, 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8)) and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 21 seed (3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4), 6-3) in the previous rounds of The Championships.
