German Tamara Korpatsch, the top seed, won against Belgian Maryna Zanevska 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the Golden Gate Open at Stanford on Tuesday night.
Korpatsch, ranked No 78, will face Chinese qualifier Yafan Wang next.
