Western & Southern Open: Muchova advances to quarter-finals, takes out eighth seed Sakkari
Karolina Muchova won against Maria Sakkari 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 on Thursday evening and will face the winner of the match between Marie Bouzkova and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, in the next round

Karolina Muchova defeated Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Western & Southern Open at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Thursday evening.
Muchova, ranked No 17, will play the winner of the match between Marie Bouzkova and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next.

In the previous rounds of the Cincy Open, Karolina Muchova edged out Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 12 seed (6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4) and won against Croat Petra Martic (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
Sakkari, ranked No 8, edged out Romanian Sorana Cirstea (2-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Cincy Open.
