Bari Open: Kawa beats Monnet to reach quarter-finals
Katarzyna Kawa defeated Carole Monnet 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 and will face the winner of the match between Carle and Tamara Zidansek in the next round

Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa won against Frenchwoman Carole Monnet 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to advance to the last 8 of the Bari Open at Circolo Tennis Bari.
Kawa, ranked No 262, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Pole edged out Italian Sara Errani, the No 4 seed (7-5, 4-6, 6-4).
Monnet, ranked No 166, defeated Italian wildcard Vittoria Paganetti (6-4, 6-1) in the previous round of the Puglia Open.
