Russian wildcard Alexander Shevchenko won against Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Astana Open at the Daulet National Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Shevchenko, ranked No 85, will play wildcard Hamad Medjedovic next.
