China Open: Paolini reaches last 16

Italian Jasmine Paolini moved into the last 16 of the China Open by edging out Chinese wildcard Yue Yuan 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Monday night.
Paolini, ranked No 36, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, and qualifier Katie Boulter next.
The Italian edged out Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 15 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Yuan, ranked No 146, edged out Belgian Elise Mertens (3-6, 6-1, 6-4).
