German Eva Lys moved into the second round of the Korea Open by winning against Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-4 at the Olympic Park Tennis Centre in Seoul on Tuesday.
Lys, ranked No 119, will play the winner of the match between American Kayla Day and No 4 seed Marie Bouzkova next.
