Hong Kong Open: Sixth seed Trevisan through to quarter-finals
The Italian will play the winner of the match between Russian qualifier Sofya Lansere and Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 3 seed, in the next round

Italy’s Martina Trevisan, the No 6 seed, defeated Poland’s Magdalena Frech 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the WTA Hong Kong Open on Thursday.
Trevisan, ranked No 42 in the world, will play the winner of the match between Russian qualifier Sofya Lansere and Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her win today, the Italian defeated Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (7-5, 6-2). Frech, ranked No 70, beat Kazakh qualifier Anna Danilina (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the week.
