Qinwen Zheng won the Zhengzhou Open title by edging out No 7 seed Barbora Krejcikova 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 at Zhongyuan Tennis Training Base Management Center.
Ahead of her victory, Zheng, ranked No 24, beat Ukrainian qualifier Kateryna Volodko (6-4, 6-3), Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 3 seed (7-6 (2), 6-3), Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-3, 6-2) and Italian Jasmine Paolini (6-2, 6-3).
Krejcikova, ranked No 18, defeated Croat Petra Martic (7-5, 6-1), Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko (6-3 ret.) and Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-0) in the previous rounds of the Zhengzhou tournament.
