Japan Open: Paul avoids upset with comeback win over Altmaier
Tommy Paul won against Daniel Altmaier 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 on Monday and will play American Mackenzie McDonald in the next round

Tommy Paul, the No 5 seed, won against German Daniel Altmaier 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Japan Open at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Monday afternoon.
The win sees Paul keep his hopes alive of playing at the ATP Finals in Turin next month, with the American currently sitting in 12th spot in the Race on 2,595 points.
Paul, ranked No 12, will play American Mackenzie McDonald next.
