Jiangxi Open: Shnaider makes quarter-finals

Diana Shnaider moved into the last 8 of the Jiangxi Open when Vera Zvonareva retired on Wednesday night at Nanchang International Tennis Center.
Shnaider, ranked No 72, led 6-3, 0-1 when Zvonareva, ranked No 272, pulled out at Nanchang International Tennis Center on Wednesday, due to illness.
Diana Shnaider will play Japanese Nao Hibino next.
Ahead of her victory, Shnaider won against Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-0).
Vera Zvonareva defeated Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round of the Jiangxi tournament.
