Transylvania Open: Korpatsch beats Snigur to reach semi-finals
The German will play the winner of the match between German Eva Lys and Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova in the next round

German Tamara Korpatsch edged out Ukrainian Daria Snigur 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals of the Transylvania Open at the BTarena in Cluj-Napoca on Friday.
Korpatsch, ranked No 105, will play the winner of the match between German Eva Lys and Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova next.
Earlier in the tournament, the German defeated Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (6-4, 2-6, 6-3) and edged out No 8 seed Jodie Burrage (2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5)).
Snigur, ranked No 154, won against Belgian Greet Minnen, the No 3 seed (6-3, 6-2) and edged out German Anna-Lena Friedsam (6-0, 1-6, 6-4) earlier in the week.
